Perry Wolcott and son Sherman A are buried RI Cemetery, Lincklaen, Chenango, NY, near Mariah's parents. Mariah marries 2^nd James W Orton. 1880 and 1900 for New Milford, both show James and Mariah; the 1900 includes Lucy and the 1880 shows full name "Nancy Mariah" and lists Morrell B as James Orton's brother-in-law, so this relationship seems clear and straightforward. This 2^nd marriage gives meaning to the fact that we do not find Nancy Mariah buried Lincklaen with Perry and Sherman. - Census New Milford CT

Married 32 years per 1900 census, so we would expect to find Mariah with James Orton in 1870. However, James is enumerated with his sister Mary A, and her son Charles in Dover that year, no sign of Mariah. Mary A and James are 2 of 6 children shown with Oliver S and Ruth Orton in 1850 Dover. In 1900 Mary A is widowed sister of James, mother of 1, not living. She is shown always as Orton; it is possible that she was at one time married to one of same surname, or never married. - Census Dover NY and New Milford CT
